Joel Schumacher, director of two Batman films and several successful films, has died of cancer. Joel Schumacher, director of several hit films, including the two series of the House of Cards drama, was 80 years old.
Born in New York City and died in the same city, Schumacher’s successful films include Batman for Ever, St. Illinois Fire and Lost Boys.
Prior to entering the film industry, she worked in the fashion industry as a costume designer for Woody Allen Sleeper & Interiors.
Her first screenplay was in the 1976 musical drama Sparkle, starring Erin Cara and later recreated with Whitney Houston. He emerged as a director in 1981.
She directed The Incredible Shrinking Woman, starring Lily Tomlin.
