Presidential Award-winning actor Moin Akhtar, who has ruled over millions of hearts, is celebrating his 70th birthday today.
Moin Akhtar was born in Karachi on December 24, 1950. His first performance was in the stage play The Merchant of Venice. It based on Shakespeare’s novel when he was just 13 years old.
The multi-faceted artist Moin Akhtar was called the Academy of Art because of his distinctive character. There was nothing wrong with the title given to him. As Moin Akhtar worked in every field of fine arts including radio, TV drama, stage and film. I showcased my God-given abilities while also singing. According to contemporary actors, Moin Akhtar was not just an actor but the name of an era. Along with acting, Moin was also an introductory TV host.
Moin introduced a new aspect of civilization in sentences full of satire and humour. In recognition of his artistic services, Moinwas also awarded the Presidential Medal for Excellence and Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
Moin Akhtar’s popular TV dramas and programs include ‘Rozi’, ‘Intezar Farage’. ‘Kemari from Bandar Road’, ‘Angan Teerha’, ‘Studio Dhai’, ‘Studio Pune Teen’, ‘Yes Sir Nawsar’, ‘Eid’. Many popular stage plays, including ‘Train’, are still etched in people’s minds. It is also a unique record for a private channel to air 400 episodes of his satirical TV shows.
Moin died of a heart attack on April 22, 2011. According to fellow artists, Pakistan’s culture is dominated by dramas.
