Renowned broadcaster Agha Nasir is no more


ISLAMABAD: Former director general of Radio Pakistan, managing director of Pakistan Television (PTV) and renowned broadcaster Agha Nasir passed away here in Islamabad at the age of 79 years, ARY News reported.

Agha Nasir was born on 9th February 1937 in Mumbai. He migrated to Pakistan during the partition of the sub-continent with his mother in 1947.

The former MD PTV started his career as a broadcaster from Radio Pakistan in 1955. He also directed several Pakistani films and worked with several renowned stars including iconic Waheed Murad and Talat Iqbal.

He was also the producer of many dramas that were aired on Pakistan Television.  Some of his famous shows included “Paani Peh Naam” and “Taaleem-e-Baalighaan”.

Nasir was also rewarded with Pride of Performance award by the Government of Pakistan.
