Pakistani artists have expressed outrage over the killing of eight-year-old housemaid Zohra Shah in Rawalpindi yesterday.
On the micro-blogging site Twitter, Mahira Khan expressed outrage over the death of Zohra Shah, who died after being tortured by her bosses, saying, “The devils are roaming freely among us.”
Shanira Akram, the wife of former national cricket team captain Wasim Akram and a social activist, said in a Twitter message: Instead of breaking the law, they should be treated the same way they treat you.
ANYONE who has a person working for them in their house who is under the age of 14, & I don’t care if they are your longtime staff members son or daughter whos living with you, you are breaking the law.If you really want to look after that child then send them to school not work!

“If you really want to take care of them, educate them instead of doing housework,” said Shanira Akram.
The leading actor of Pakistan film and TV industry Osman Khalid Butt also expressed depression over the Zohra Shah incident.
Leading actress and host Veena Malik tweeted, “I am deeply saddened by the poor state of our society.”

It may also be recalled that according to the police. While Zohra Shah was cleaning the parrot’s cage, two parrots of her owners were accidentally blown away by Zohra, after which her owners severely tortured her and Zohra Shah succumbed to her injuries.
