Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan got injured on the set of his upcoming action thriller film King. Because of the injury, the shooting of the film has been temporarily stopped.
The incident happened recently during an action scene at Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai. While filming, Shah Rukh had an accident and got hurt.
According to Indian media, he suffered a minor but painful back injury. It was a muscular strain, not very serious, but doctors advised him to take complete rest for at least one month.
For treatment, he was first taken to the USA, and after getting medical help there, he went to the UK to stay with his family and rest.
The shooting of King had started in March 2025. The production team had booked multiple locations for shooting, including Film City Mumbai, Golden Tobacco Studio, and Yash Raj Films Studio. All these bookings have now been canceled.
Location scouting in Sri Lanka has also been postponed. Media reports say that the next shooting schedule for King will now begin in September or October.
Shah Rukh Khan has a long history of getting injured on film sets. Fans know that he prefers to do most of his stunts himself, which has caused many accidents in the past.
In 2002, while shooting for the film Shakti: The Power, he had a spine injury and had surgery in the UK. A disc was also placed in his spine.
In 1993, during the film Darr, he had a rib fracture. In 1997, during Koyla, he suffered a serious knee injury. In 2011, during Ra.One, he again injured his knee. In 2007, while filming Dulha Mil Gaya, and in 2008 during My Name is Khan, he had shoulder injuries.

The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, who is known for blockbusters like Pathaan and War.
King is expected to be one of the biggest releases of 2026. Shah Rukh Khan will play the role of a killer. His daughter Suhana Khan, who is coming from theatre to films, will play his student in the movie.
The cast also includes many big names like Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji (playing Suhana’s mother), Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat (as the villain), along with Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, Saurabh Shukla, and Abhay Verma in important roles.
King is planned to release in October 2026 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. However, due to Shah Rukh Khan’s recent injury, there might be a delay. Fans are now praying for his quick recovery and the film’s success.
