Ayesha Omar shares real experience of hosting boxing show during war
Ayesha Omar recently posted some pictures on her Instagram from her visit to Quetta. She went there to host a boxing event along with comedian and co-host Shafaat Ali. The event took place during the recent tension between India and Pakistan.
In the pictures, Ayesha Omar is seen wearing a stylish floral blazer and matching trousers with a black shirt tucked in. She is also holding her large coat in one hand. To complete her look, she wore black sunglasses and comfortable sneakers.
Ayesha Omar shared her excitement about hosting the event in Quetta during a very tense time for the country. In her Instagram caption, she said it was a big honor for her to host the first-ever WBA boxing championship in South Asia, right in Quetta, Balochistan.
She explained that while the country was under threat from India and the armed forces were defending the nation, she and her co-host Shafaat Syed, along with singer Natasha Baig, took the last available flight to Quetta to host the 4-day event. Many international boxers and guests had come from different parts of the world, and they didn’t want to cancel the event. Ayesha said it was important to show the world that Pakistanis are brave and strong, just like their army.
Even though many friends and colleagues advised them to stay home due to safety concerns, they trusted the arrangements made by the Army, DHA Quetta, the Chief Minister and Governor of Balochistan, and the Commander of 12 Corps. They felt safe and supported.
She mentioned that during the final day of the event, a ceasefire was announced, and boxer Muhammad Waseem won a major title — a proud moment for Pakistan.
Ayesha described the whole experience as unforgettable and full of energy. She had to rehearse for three days, attend long events, interact with the audience, take selfies, give interviews, and stay active the entire time. It was tough, but also thrilling, and she said she would happily do it all again.
She ended her message with love for Quetta, calling it a beautiful and warm-hearted place, and mentioned that she wore outfits by designer Nomi Ansari for all three days, which she absolutely loved.
