Hamza Ali Abbasi clarifies his statement about leaving showbiz
Famous Pakistani film and drama actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has explained his statement about leaving the showbiz industry. In 2019, Hamza had said he wanted to step away from showbiz to come closer to Islam. After that, he was not seen in any dramas or films for a long time.
He also spoke in many interviews about taking a break from showbiz and focusing on Islamic beliefs.
Recently, in a new interview, Hamza said that in his video, he never said he was quitting showbiz. He said that he had reached some conclusions about God and the afterlife, and he wanted to learn more, so he was taking a break from showbiz. He also said that people should not think he was leaving the arts because of religion.
Hamza explained that he follows scholar Javed Ahmed Ghamidi, and he even mentioned him in his video. According to Ghamidi’s teachings, working in the arts while staying within moral limits is allowed in Islam. So, people should not think he left showbiz completely.
Hamza also shared that he went to Dallas, Texas to study with Ghamidi. He said no one watched his full video. The next day, news headlines wrongly claimed that he had quit showbiz. He said he was shocked and upset that people made headlines after watching only the first 4 minutes of his 17-minute video.
