Famous actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali’s body was found on Tuesday, 8 July, in her apartment located in the upscale Defence Phase 6 area of Karachi. Her body was several days old when discovered, and now the post-mortem has been completed.
Shocking News on Social Media
The news of her death spread quickly on both social media and mainstream media. People were shocked when it was revealed that her body was found in her own flat.
Reports say that Humaira, who was originally from Lahore, had been living alone in this flat for the past 7 years. For the last year, she had also stopped paying rent. Due to this, the flat owner had started legal action against her in the Clifton Cantonment Board (CBC).
Bailiff Visits With Police
Things became serious when a court bailiff visited the flat with police to have it vacated. They knocked on the door several times but got no response. A strong smell coming from the apartment raised suspicions, so the door was broken open with police help.
When police entered, they found Humaira’s body, which had been there for several days. Her body was then sent to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem.
Humaira Lived Alone
One surprising fact was that Humaira had been living completely alone for years. She had no contact with her relatives or family members.
What Neighbors Said
After the body was sent to the hospital, some neighbors shared their thoughts. In a talk with Geo News, neighbors said that Humaira did not interact much with anyone in the building. Despite being a well-known personality, she did not even own a car.
Neighbors also said that she had moved from Lahore to Karachi and had been living in this flat for 7 years. They confirmed that she had not paid rent since 2024, leading to legal action by the landlord.
What the Post-Mortem Revealed
Media reports say that police first believed it was a natural death and waited for the post-mortem report.
Now that the post-mortem is complete at Jinnah Hospital, the Karachi Police Surgeon stated that her body was badly decomposed. However, chemical samples were taken and the possible cause of death has been preserved for further analysis.
Police also said that her family has contacted them, but so far, no one has come to Karachi to receive the body. Because of this, the body has been moved to the morgue.
The police have not shared the cause of death with the public yet. They are still investigating from different angles but, for now, are treating it as a natural death.
Who Was Humaira Asghar?
Humaira started her TV career in Karachi in the year 2000. She appeared in supporting roles in several dramas, including Ehsaas Faramosh and Guru.
In one interview, she said that she had worked in over 40 theatre plays and was also busy with modeling. Along with that, she was very active in charity work.
She gained more fame through a private reality show called Tamasha, where her arguments and statements were widely discussed.
