Senior Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh and his daughter, actress Momal Sheikh, spoke openly in a recent interview about family life, the effects of divorce, and emotional ups and downs.

They appeared on a show where they shared personal memories and feelings related to their private lives.

Javed Sheikh talked about his separation from his ex-wife Zinat Mangi and how it affected the family. He said that in his opinion, after divorce, women suffer more. Men usually stay busy with work outside, but women have to face children and responsibilities at home, which brings loneliness and pressure.

Momal Sheikh gave a different and balanced view. She said that people often talk about the pain women feel, which is true, but the pain of men is usually ignored.

She explained that custody of children mostly goes to the mother, so she feels a bit settled. But no one asks how the father lives without his children.

Momal said that in today’s world, where women also work, men should also have equal rights to spend time with their children.

She added that men also go through grief after divorce, but society does not accept their emotions. Men are not allowed to cry or look weak, and that is a big injustice.

Momal also shared that her relationship with her father got better over time. When she got married, she herself invited her father back into the home so the family could be close again.
