Defeated and afraid, India continues to use cheap tactics. When it could not do anything against the Pakistan Army, it removed Pakistani actors Mawra Hussain, Mahira Khan, and Fawad Khan from the posters of Indian films.

The Indian government is still putting restrictions on Pakistani content. After Operation Baniyan Marsous, there is a clear effort to remove Pakistani artists from Indian media. Artists are being targeted in the name of politics and security.

After recent tension between India and Pakistan, Indian media and film industry took another controversial step. Pakistani actors Mawra Hussain, Mahira Khan, and Fawad Khan were removed from the official posters and music streaming platforms of the Indian films in which they played leading roles.

Mahira Khan has been removed from the new thumbnail of the film Raees. Now, only Shah Rukh Khan’s picture is shown.

Fawad Khan’s Bollywood film Kapoor and Sons’ song Buddhu Sa Mann has been blocked on YouTube India. A message appears saying this video is not available in your country.

Mawra Hussain, who entered Bollywood with the film Sanam Teri Kasam, has also been fully removed from the new posters. Even on platforms like Spotify, her picture is no longer there.

When the sequel Sanam Teri Kasam 2 was discussed, during that time of tension between Pakistan and India, Mawra’s co-star Harshvardhan Rane gave anti-Pakistan statements and said he would not work with Mawra again.

Pakistani actor Ameer Gilani, who is also Mawra’s husband, strongly reacted to the removal of Pakistani artists from film posters and credits. He said that removing someone’s photo or credit does not change the truth. Mawra, Mahira, and Fawad were an important part of those projects. He added that instead of wasting time erasing artists, India should focus on creating quality content.

Internet users made fun of India’s actions. Some said that if they removed Mawra from the poster, then try removing her from the whole film. She is not an ordinary actress. Even today, she has millions of fans in India. The same people who once talked about removing Pakistan from the world map are now removing Mawra from posters. What a joke.
