While tweeting on the micro-blogging site Twitter, actress Nadia Jameel wrote that ‘You should be ashamed for making fun of our heroes. He was shot in the face for raising his voice for girls’ education, which left half of his face paralyzed and won the Nobel Prize for Pakistan.

While blocking the said Twitter user, she further wrote that I am blocking you for having an English accent complex and being jealous of a very brave young man.

Earlier, actor Usman Mukhtar’s wife and author Zanira Inam also took the mentioned Twitter user and asked, “What is wrong with his English?” Are you trying to imply that having such an accent is a problem? Because that’s a really elitist, cynical position, colonialism really didn’t leave us anywhere, did it!’
