Public angry over the face covering of Sana Yousuf’s alleged killer
People are very angry because the face of the man who allegedly killed Pakistani TikToker Sana Yousuf was covered during his court appearance.
The brutal murder of 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousuf shocked everyone. On social media, many people are asking for the killer to be given the death penalty.
A case was registered against 22-year-old suspect Umar Hayat at Sumbal Police Station in Islamabad under murder charges. He was presented in court on 4 June before Duty Judicial Magistrate Ahmad Shehzad Gondal.
During the hearing, the magistrate approved the police request for an identity parade and sent the suspect to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
Although the quick arrest gave the public some relief, the court appearance made people very upset.
The reason is that the suspect’s face was covered with a black cloth and he was taken directly from the vehicle into the courtroom without showing his face.
As soon as the video and photos of Umar Hayat with his face covered went viral on social media, people started criticizing this strongly.
Social media users are asking why the killer’s face is hidden when photos of the murdered girl Sana Yousuf are everywhere.
Some pictures of Umar Hayat are being shared online, but Islamabad Police only released his ID card photo. Since his arrest, his face has not been shown to the public.
One critic wrote that the victim’s face is shown to everyone, but the killer is hidden to make it easier for him to commit another crime in the future.
Many users claim that the real killer has not been caught yet. They say the real person belongs to a rich family and the public is being fooled.
Actress Mishi Khan also made a video in anger, asking why the police are hiding the killer’s face. She said his face should be shown to the whole country. She also questioned why criminals are always covered with a black cloth after arrest.
