Famous and senior Pakistani actress Samina Peerzada has shared the real reason for staying away from the screen for seven years.

She is now returning to the screen with the horror film Deemak under the banner of Geo Films. Her last TV project was the popular drama Balaa, which aired in 2018.

Recently, during the promotions of the film Deemak, Samina Peerzada spoke in an interview about the emotional and personal reasons behind her long break from acting.

She revealed that her role in the drama Balaa had a deep emotional impact on her. After that role, she decided to take a break from acting.

She shared that in the last four to five episodes of Balaa, the character she played starts losing memory. For this role, she took inspiration from her own mother. In the final days of her mother’s life, her memory also started to fade in a similar way. Samina said she used to see her mother in the morning, spend time with her in the evening, and then play a similar role during shooting.

The actress further shared that after her mother passed away, the role became a very painful experience for her, and she was deeply affected both mentally and emotionally.

In the interview, Samina Peerzada also said that when her mother died and the drama ended, she contacted her daughters and went to stay with them. Around the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the world, and because of that, all her planned projects were cancelled.

She admitted that in the beginning, she was upset by this unexpected break, but slowly she started to enjoy the quiet and free time. Not working again also became a kind of personal peace for her.

Now, she is returning to acting with new energy and a fresh vision through the film Deemak.
