Famous Pakistani drama actress and model Sunita Marshall has clearly explained why she did not change her religion after marrying into a Muslim family.
This topic has been discussed many times before, and once again, Sunita has spoken openly about her decision to keep her religion even after marrying a Muslim man.
Sunita Marshall is known as one of the most glamorous celebrities in the showbiz industry. She started her career as a model and later proved her talent in acting. She has represented Pakistan both locally and internationally.
She acted in many popular drama serials on PTV and private channels, including Meera Saeein, Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3, Nemat, Pinjra, and Sar-e-Rah.
Her personal life has also been very open to the public. She married actor and model Hassan Ahmed, who is also a talented name in the industry.
Their marriage is a beautiful example of interfaith harmony. Sunita belongs to a Christian family while Hassan is Muslim. But both respect each other’s religion and decided to live together peacefully.
Recently, Sunita appeared as a guest on a private podcast and shared her views about religion.
During the interview, she said her entire family has moved abroad, and she is the only one still living in Pakistan.
She explained that many people from her family moved abroad for different reasons, mostly for better opportunities, and not because of any religious discrimination. Her family has never faced any religious discrimination in Pakistan.
Talking about her relationship with Hassan Ahmed, she shared that they were in a relationship for five years before marriage. Hassan’s entire family knew her well during that time.
She said she used to attend family events at Hassan’s home regularly, and his family always gave her a lot of respect. Because of their positive attitude, her own parents easily agreed to the marriage.
Sunita also shared that when she wanted to get married in a church with Hassan, their church priest was not in favor of the marriage at first. But later, Hassan’s uncle supported the marriage a lot, and because of that, the church wedding also happened, with Hassan’s family attending it.
While talking about changing religion, Sunita Marshall also shared that only once Hassan talked to her about converting to Islam.
She said that when Hassan returned after performing Umrah, he expressed his wish that she should accept Islam.
Sunita explained that she clearly told him that she would only do so if her heart truly wanted it. She believes that religion should never be forced and must come from the heart, not because of someone’s pressure or request.
After she said this, Hassan never again asked her to convert to Islam.
