Umair Shehzad joined his wife in helping to make kheer
Pakistani actor Umair Shehzad went to the kitchen to help his newlywed wife Shanzay Lodhi during the traditional kheer cooking ceremony.
Umair Shehzad started his career as a model, but later entered acting because of his good looks.
His debut drama was Adhoori Aurat, which aired in 2013. In this drama, he played a negative role.
Umair also acted in dramas like Choti Choti Khushiyan, Chor Darwazay, and Noor Jahan. In 2022, he appeared in a supporting role in the drama Mere Humsafar.
At the end of February 2025, Umair Shehzad suddenly announced his marriage and shared pictures from Umrah. In those photos, his wife was also with him. After that, he officially announced his nikkah with social media influencer Shanzay Lodhi.
Their other wedding events were held in Karachi and attended by their close friends and family.
After the wedding, traditional events are still happening. One of them was the kheer cooking ceremony of Shanzay Lodhi, which became popular on social media.
The video was shared by Umair Shehzad’s sister Ayesha on her YouTube channel called Ayesha Cakes and Cuisines, where Shanzay was seen cooking kheer in the kitchen with her.
While Shanzay was cooking kheer, Umair Shehzad also came into the kitchen. He took the spoon from his wife and started stirring the kheer. He said that he wants to help and told everyone to sit while he also serves the kheer. He added that the purpose is to show unity.
Umair’s sister replied that he is giving a good and new message to everyone — that after marriage, not only the bride but the groom should also take part in the kheer ceremony.
At the event, Umair Shehzad’s wife and her family prepared special food for the guests.
Many social media users commented on the video. One user liked how Umair helped his wife and wrote that every girl dreams of a husband like you.
Another user wrote that this is the kind of positivity we need to see on the internet, especially within in-laws.
On the other hand, one user criticized by saying that if the marriage is going happily, there is no need to show it to the whole world. Bad eye can affect quickly, so keep your happiness private.
