Senior Pakistani drama actress Shaista Jabeen has finally shared the reason why she chose to stay single, even in older age. There are many actors in the showbiz industry who focused only on their careers and stayed far away from marriage. Shaista Jabeen is one of those people.
She started her acting career during the PTV era and with time, became a well-known name in the industry.
In the beginning, she played lead heroine roles, but as she grew older, she started getting serious roles like mother or mother-in-law.
But many people still wonder why Shaista Jabeen never got married in her younger days and why she chose to live alone.
She has answered this in previous interviews too, but this time, in a private talk show, she openly talked about the personal decisions of her life.
While talking about her career, Shaista Jabeen said that she received many offers to act in films when she was younger, but she always refused.
She explained that she could never do romantic scenes in films. She said how could she romance a man she doesn’t even know or have any connection with.
According to her, romance is shown in an exaggerated way in films compared to dramas, and she could never imagine doing such scenes on screen.
Talking about marriage, Shaista said she always wanted to marry someone with her parents’ approval. But after her father passed away, she got busy with family responsibilities and didn’t realize how quickly time passed.
She said that because of family responsibilities, she decided not to get married. Due to this, many proposals went away. Now, she does not even want to think about marriage because, as the saying goes, things from far away always seem more beautiful than they really are.
Shaista also accepted her growing age and clearly said that now she will not get married. At this stage of life, adjusting with someone is very difficult for her, even though she is a person who can adjust with all types of people. But whenever she sees married couples fighting or arguing, she secretly feels happy and thinks it’s good that she never got married.
She also revealed that in the past, whenever one of her dramas became a hit, fake news about her marriage would go viral on social media and in newspapers. When she saw those false reports, she would get frustrated.
It is also important to mention that in an earlier interview, she had said she was the first and only woman from her family to work in the showbiz industry. No one from her family liked this, and no one even wanted to admit that Shaista was their relative.
She added that maybe now someone in her family might call her their relative, but earlier it was never like that. That is why she herself never mentioned her family in the industry, because if someone did not accept her, then she saw no reason to talk about them either.
