Famous Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is facing criticism on social media after an old photo with former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi went viral.

The photo was actually taken during the 2024 World Championship of Legends, before the recent Pakistan-India tension. But it went viral again after an important match between Pakistan and India in the 2025 World Championship of Legends was canceled.

Reports say the match was canceled because the Indian team objected to Shahid Afridi’s participation.

As soon as the photo went viral, Ajay Devgn started getting criticized online. Many Indian users accused him of having a double standard.

One user wrote that Bollywood celebrities can no longer be trusted. Another said that Ajay Devgn only shows love for India on screen, not in real life.

Indian social media users continued to criticize Ajay Devgn, saying that actors like him don’t care about the country or the public, and are seen smiling with enemies of India. One angry user even said that his upcoming film should be boycotted, saying enough is enough.

Meanwhile, some users pointed out that the viral picture of Ajay Devgn with Shahid Afridi is not recent but from a year ago. They clarified that the photo was taken during the World Championship of Legends 2024 in Birmingham.

On the other hand, the organizers of the World Championship of Legends 2025 have released a statement saying that the remaining matches will continue as per the schedule.

It is important to note that the World Championship of Legends is a T20 tournament approved by the England and Wales Cricket Board, but it does not have full international T20 status. The tournament is owned by Indian rapper Harshit Tomar and Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn.

The first edition of the WCL took place in 2024, where India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the final.
