In Pakistan, laws are rarely enforced. We see lawlessness rife throughout the country, and many who go to court waste their money and effort for years on end to eventually achieve some justice, while many die without seeing the light. On the other hand, there have been occasions where false allegations in a range of offenses, even from the state, have ruined Pakistanis’ life.

Rana Intizar Hussain discussed how the woman card is used in Pakistan in a recent podcast. He is also Ali Zafar’s lawyer in his case against Meesha Shafi, and he has sought 100 crores in damages as a result of Meesha Shafi’s infamous tweet against Ali. He also mentioned that case, saying that indeed, these matters can drag on for years in Pakistan and that one requires an unending supply of money and time for litigation.
