Ameer Gilani slammed removal of Mawra Hussain’s photo from Indian film poster
Actor Ameer Gilani strongly reacted to the removal of his wife Mawra Hussain’s photo from the poster of the Indian film Sanam Teri Kasam.
He called this action disappointing and said that because of Pakistani artists, the Indian film industry got better international projects.
This happened during the recent tensions between Pakistan and India. The Indian government has placed bans on showing Pakistani content on OTT platforms and media streaming services.
Under this policy, Mawra Hussain’s photo was removed from the album cover of the 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam on Spotify and YouTube Music, even though she played the lead role in the film.
Ameer Gilani criticized Indian filmmakers and advised them to focus on good scripts instead of editing photos. Actress and host Hina Altaf also supported Mawra Hussain and said that such actions do not affect an artist’s value.
This is not the first time Pakistani artists have faced such situations on Indian platforms due to Pakistan-India tensions. In the past too, Indian authorities have banned Pakistani artists and content.
