Former Pakistani actress Areej Fatima recently spoke openly on social media about the criticism she faced for wearing the hijab.
Areej Fatima who became famous for her acting in several dramas moved to the United States after marriage. She left showbiz for the sake of Islam and now lives a peaceful life with her husband Dr Uzair and their two sons.
A few months ago Areej shared that she had started wearing the hijab regularly and also spoke about her cancer diagnosis and successful recovery. Her fans praised her strength and religious commitment. However she recently said that after starting hijab she faced unnecessary criticism and advice from people.
She explained that when she did not wear a scarf life was easier but now people keep telling her what she should or should not do while wearing it. Areej Fatima said that this is her personal journey and others should avoid giving unwanted advice.
Many women agreed with her statement on social media and said that they also face similar situations since they started wearing the hijab. Everyone tries to tell them what is right or wrong.
