Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam broke records of two Indian batsmen within two days. Two days ago, he broke Rohit Sharma’s record to become the highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals, and later, after scoring a half-century, he also passed Virat Kohli’s record for the most 50-plus scores in T20s.

Babar made his comeback in the T20 series against South Africa. After getting out for zero in the first match, he scored 11 runs in the second match but still managed to break Rohit Sharma’s record of 4,231 runs in 159 matches. Babar achieved this milestone in just 130 matches, becoming the fastest to reach it.

In the third T20, Babar scored a half-century off only 36 balls, helping Pakistan win and making his first T20 fifty since May 2024 against Ireland.

With this innings, Babar completed his 37th T20 half-century, surpassing Indian star Virat Kohli.

Babar Azam now holds the record for the most 50-plus scores in T20 Internationals with 40 (37 fifties and 3 centuries). Before this, he was tied with Kohli, who had 39 (38 fifties and 1 century).
