Ranveer Singh’s upcoming anti-Pakistan Bollywood film Dharundhar has sparked controversy after videos surfaced showing the use of the Pakistani flag, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) banners, and a photo of Benazir Bhutto.
In the teaser released for the film, several action scenes feature PPP banners, flags, and Benazir Bhutto’s picture. The teaser also shows lead actors including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal.
From the characters and scenes shown, it appears the film presents an anti-Pakistan narrative. The video also shows actors dressed as Pakistani police arresting Sanjay Dutt’s character, and violent scenes with Ranveer Singh that are seemingly set in Pakistani locations.
Earlier, a video from the film’s set had gone viral showing the Pakistani flag, which led Indian social media users to criticize Ranveer Singh and call for his boycott. Many questioned why Ranveer was not being boycotted when singer Diljit Dosanjh was criticized for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
Now, with scenes featuring PPP banners, posters, flags, and Benazir Bhutto’s image, it is clear that part of the film’s story is set in Pakistan.
The exact plot of Dharundhar is still unclear. However, Indian media reports claim the movie follows a secret agent from India’s intelligence agency on a high-stakes mission, exposing conspiracies that threaten national security. It is expected that Ranveer Singh plays this agent and, like many previous films, this one also spreads anti-Pakistan sentiments.
