A local court in Lahore has extended the remand of famous YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai, for the fourth time. He will remain in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for another 2 days.
Ducky Bhai is accused of promoting illegal gambling apps through his YouTube channel. He was arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while allegedly trying to leave the country. After his initial 4-day remand ended, he was presented in court on September 1, where the judge handed him over to NCCIA for 2 more days.
The case against him was registered by NCCIA Lahore on behalf of the state under Pakistan’s electronic crimes law sections 13, 14, 25, and 26, along with sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Ducky Bhai has also filed a petition in Lahore Sessions Court against repeated extensions of his remand.
Meanwhile, in the same case, his wife Aroob Jatoi has been granted an extension in her pre-arrest bail until September 15. The sessions court has ordered NCCIA not to arrest her and has asked for a detailed investigation report in the next hearing. Aroob Jatoi stated in her bail plea that she is ready to fully cooperate with the agency and appear for questioning. On this basis, she was first granted bail on August 21.
