Additional District and Sessions Judge South has ordered the police to register a case under Section 154 regarding the death of model and actress Humaira Asghar.

According to reports, the judge gave this decision on a petition filed by Advocate Shahzaib Sohail, who requested that a murder case be registered after Humaira Asghar’s body was found.

The court directed the police to record the statements of the family members and proceed according to the law. If a case is made under Section 154, it must be registered.

Earlier, the police submitted a report to the court saying that they had contacted the family of Humaira, her postmortem had been conducted, and they were waiting for the final forensic report before taking further action.

The petition stated that Humaira Asghar died on October 7, but her phone remained active until February 2025. The phone was found unlocked, and a makeup artist’s call went unanswered. Later, her WhatsApp display picture was deleted. The petitioner requested that the makeup artist be summoned and Humaira’s brother and others be included in the investigation.

The police report also mentioned that blood samples were collected from the washroom and the room. The petitioner claimed that Humaira had been murdered and asked for an FIR to be registered. The investigation officer told the court that if evidence is found, they would register the case themselves. The petition had named SSP South and SHO Gizri as parties.

It should be remembered that Humaira Asghar’s body was found on July 8 in a residential building at Ittehad Commercial, Defence Phase 6, Karachi. The actress had passed away nearly ten months earlier.
