Punjabi Indian superstar Diljit Dosanjh and actress Hania Aamir’s film Sardaar Ji 3 has set a new box office record in Pakistan.
The film is doing incredibly well in Pakistan and has made history at the box office. Even though the movie faced a ban in India, it performed very strongly in international markets, especially in Pakistan.
Punjabi films are still allowed to release in Pakistan because most of the filmmakers are legally connected to the UK or Canada, so these films are not banned in the country. That’s why Sardaar Ji 3 was able to earn 210 million Pakistani rupees (around 63.4 million Indian rupees) in its first week.
Despite releasing during the holiday season, this comedy film made another 95 million rupees (about 28.6 million Indian rupees) in its second week, and in just one day of the third week, it earned an additional 100 million rupees (around 30.2 million Indian rupees).
So far, the film’s total earnings from Pakistan have reached 122.3 million Indian rupees, which equals around 405.1 million Pakistani rupees. This makes Sardaar Ji 3 the highest-grossing Indian film in Pakistan, breaking the record previously held by Carry on Jatta 3.
According to analysts, the film’s business in Pakistan may go up to 600 million rupees in the coming weeks.
