Saima Akram Chaudhry, the writer of hit dramas like Suno Chanda and Hum Tum, made a sarcastic comment about the emotional reaction of the Indian public after the release of the Bollywood film Saira.

She posted on X (formerly Twitter) and asked why all of India is so obsessed with Saira. She said it seems like the entire country has taken an oath to make the film a success.

According to the writer, the amount of overacting is not even in the film itself, but in the reactions of the general public. She joked that people from Gen Z are fainting in cinemas and even eating detergent like Surf — in short, doing all kinds of crazy things.

Saira is a new Bollywood romantic film that was released in cinemas on 18 July. It is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films. The lead roles are played by new actors Ahaan Panday and Anit Padda.

The film is a remake of the 2004 Korean movie A Moment to Remember. It tells the story of a couple where the girl is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which puts their relationship through a serious test.

The film has been praised internationally and has done very well at the box office. It is now one of the highest-grossing romantic films in Bollywood.

Reports say that Saira earned over 150 crore rupees in just six days after its release and has received a strong response from the audience.

Many videos of people reacting after watching the film have gone viral on social media, and the emotional reactions of Indian viewers are getting a lot of attention.
