Famous Indian singer and actress Sulakshana Pandit passed away after a long illness due to a heart attack. She was 71 years old. According to her brother, music composer Lalit Pandit, she passed away at 8 p.m. in Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after suffering a heart attack. Her last rites will be held on the afternoon of November 7.
Sulakshana belonged to the well-known Mewati musical family of India. She was the niece of the famous classical singer Pandit Jasraj. Her brothers, Jatin and Lalit Pandit, are also popular music composers in the Indian film industry.
During the golden era of the 1970s and 1980s, Sulakshana sang many songs with legendary singers like Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, and Mukesh. These songs are still considered classics of Indian film music.
She also showed her talent in acting and appeared in famous films such as Uljhan, Khandaan, Apnapan, and Waqt Ki Deewar.
In her personal life, Sulakshana faced many hardships. After her one-sided love for actor Sanjeev Kumar, she lived a lonely life and later struggled with health and financial problems for many years.
