Famous Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan has disagreed with actress Deepika Padukone’s demand for an 8-hour work shift.

Recently, there were reports that Deepika Padukone was removed from director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit because she only wanted to work for 8 hours a day. This news quickly went viral and started a big debate in the industry about work-life balance.

While many celebrities supported Deepika, Farah Khan shared her own thoughts in a recent video vlog, which showed she did not fully agree with the idea.

In her vlog, Farah met actress Radhika Madan. During their conversation, Radhika recalled her early days in the industry. She shared how she felt calm like on stage during her first audition for the show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi. She didn’t expect to get selected, but within three days she received a call and started shooting just two days later.

Farah jokingly asked if she worked only 8-hour shifts. Radhika smiled and replied that she worked nonstop for 56 hours or sometimes 48 hours.

To this, Farah commented that gold becomes pure only after going through fire. This clearly showed that she believes in hard work and long hours for success, and she possibly sees the 8-hour shift demand as unnecessary.

It is important to mention that Deepika Padukone, who recently became a mother, now wants to balance her personal and professional life.

She reportedly made three demands for working in the film Spirit — working only 8 hours per day, an increase in her fee, and a share in the film’s profit.

According to unconfirmed reports, these conditions did not sit well with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and he decided to remove her from the film.

Although Farah Khan does not seem to support the idea of work-life balance openly, many celebrities have spoken in Deepika’s favor, including Vikrant Massey, Rashmika Mandanna, and director Anurag Basu.

They all believe that actors should also have time for their personal lives and that the film industry must consider the work-life balance of artists.

It is worth noting that Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan have had a long and strong friendship. Deepika started her film career with Om Shanti Om, which was directed by Farah herself.
