Actor Riteish Deshmukh believes that if paparazzi take photos of him or his children, it is an honor.

In 2025, when a burglary occurred at the home of actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan — during which Saif was injured — several celebrities, including Kareena, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Nick Jonas, requested paparazzi to refrain from photographing their children to protect their privacy and safety. However, actor couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza hold a different perspective on the matter.

Their two sons, 10-year-old Riaan and 8-year-old Rahyl, are often seen greeting media photographers respectfully and confidently posing for the cameras.

When asked about this, Riteish said there is no fixed rule for how children should or shouldn’t be exposed to the media.

He added that if parents prefer to keep their children out of the spotlight, their wishes should be respected, as every parent knows what’s best for their child.
46-year-old Riteish believes that in today’s world, avoiding cameras is nearly impossible. He said, “Our kids participate in sports and go out daily. When we go to watch their matches, some photographer inevitably shows up to take pictures — it’s unavoidable. We also have to talk to our children so they don’t start feeling like they’re some kind of special celebrities.”

Riteish further explained that initially, their children didn’t understand what movies were or what their parents did. “Now that they’ve grown a bit, they’ve started realizing why people recognize us and why our pictures are taken.”

In conclusion, Riteish said, “I always tell my kids that when someone takes our picture, it’s a matter of respect. If someone asks for a photo, just say thank you and move on. It’s important they understand that the person taking the photo is also working hard — don’t make a big deal out of it, just act normal.
