For the first time, the parents of late actress Humaira Asghar have spoken to the media. They have said they suspect their daughter was murdered. They also denied the news that they refused to accept her body.
It is important to remember that Humaira Asghar’s body was found in an apartment in the Defence area of Karachi. Her body was in a bad condition, and it was found that she had died around nine months ago.
Her father told a local TV channel that they first received a call from relatives saying Humaira had passed away. After that, the police also contacted them.
He said the police asked them to take the body, but since the post-mortem and other legal work were not yet completed, they could not go immediately. He clearly said they never refused to take the body. If that was true, they would not have sent their son later to collect it.
He also denied the news that Humaira was facing financial problems. He said his daughter was earning well and used to spend a lot of her money on herself and poor children.
According to him, expensive clothes were found in her room, many of which she had never even worn. This shows she was not in any money trouble.
He also said that if Humaira did not pay rent or electricity bills, it might have been after her death. While she was alive, she paid all bills on time.
Humaira’s father expressed doubt about her death. He said he did not go to Karachi himself and does not know all the facts, but he feels something wrong happened to his daughter.
He said her body was found in a storeroom, lying face down, and the apartment door looked suspicious. He added that whoever did this to her had no fear of God.
He praised the Sindh police, saying that even though Humaira was not related to them, the police are doing a responsible job in the investigation.
He also shared that Humaira joined showbiz with her parents’ permission, and there was never any issue or fight between them.
Her mother also spoke and said the last time she talked to her daughter was at the end of August 2024. After that, she kept trying to call, but the phone was always off.
The mother said they had no contacts in Karachi, so they could not ask anyone for help. She thought maybe her daughter had gone abroad to a place like Turkey, and that was why her phone was off. She believed Humaira would contact them when she came back.
The mother said that during their last call, Humaira told her that someone was bothering her and that her mobile SIM was blocked. But she did not explain who was doing this or why.
She also denied any rumors about being upset with her daughter and called the media reports baseless. She said they never refused to accept Humaira’s body.
She added that a few days before hearing the news of Humaira’s death, she was feeling uneasy and had a strange feeling in her heart. When she heard the news on TV, she went into shock.
It is important to note that Humaira Asghar’s body was found on 8 July 2025 in her rented flat in DHA Karachi, where she had been living since 2018.
According to the police and the initial post-mortem report, the body was about 10 months old. It is believed that she died in the first week of October 2024.
