Humayun Saeed recently appeared on The Knock Knock Show, presented by Mohib Mirza. During the episode, Humayun described the process of being chosen for The Crown. He stated that he auditioned for The Crown several times before being picked from a pool of eight Indian and Pakistani actors.
When asked about it, he remarked, “I received The Crown by chance. Yes, I conducted auditions for the part since that is their procedure. They initially assess an actor’s work before selecting him or her. I was surprised to see the character of Dr Hasnat, as I was already watching The Crown. I never considered acquiring it. When I got the character, I was ecstatic. I was a little concerned when they requested for auditions. I was assigned two scenes, and my agency informed me, “There are eight actors from India and Pakistan, so be prepared for auditions.” Humayun Saeed first made it into the top five, and then into the top two. I sought assistance from Nadir, who taught me stuff and accepted my audition. I also had an audition with Elizabeth Debicki. Humayun became thrilled, but they did not call me; they phoned me after I stopped waiting for it, and I stopped it.”
