Iffat Umar, a well-known senior actress and host of the Pakistani showbiz industry, has apologized for accepting the position offered by the Punjab government.
Iffat Umar, in a message on social media platform X, has thanked the Punjab government and has also decided not to accept the offer of the post of cultural advisor.
In her statement, Iffat Umar tagged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and wrote that she is grateful to be selected for this responsibility by the Punjab government, however, after deliberation, she has humbly decided to reject the offer.
She further wrote that she expresses her best wishes for the Culture Department and wishes for its success.
It should be recalled that recently, news had surfaced that Iffat Umar had been proposed to be appointed as an advisor for the revival of culture across the province, with the aim of promoting cultural activities in Punjab.
