Famous Assamese actress and social media star Nandani Kashyap has been arrested for allegedly killing a young Muslim man in a car accident.
According to NDTV, the Assam police arrested her on July 30 and presented her in a local court.
Police said that on July 25, the actress hit 21-year-old Sameeul Haque with her speeding car, seriously injuring him. He was taken to the hospital but sadly passed away on the night of July 29 due to his injuries.
After his death, the police added serious charges, including causing death, and arrested the actress. Her car was also taken into custody.
Reports say that after hitting the young man, the actress did not stop or look back and quickly drove away from the scene.
Friends of the injured man followed her car. She drove into a residential building, where she also misbehaved with the people who were recording her video.
According to the victim’s family, the actress had first agreed to cover all the medical expenses, but she never visited the hospital or contacted the family during those four days.
On the other hand, the actress denied the claims that she hit the young man with her car. However, police said that eyewitnesses confirmed it was Nandani Kashyap who hit the boy and then fled the scene.
