The elections in the Indian state of Bihar are also the focus of public attention and interest because several superstars of the Bhojpuri film industry also enter the fray to compete.

In the past, several artists including Bhojpuri film industry superstars Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari and Niravwah have won the elections.

In the 2025 elections this year, superstars Khesari Lal Yadav and Ritesh Pandey also tried their luck.

Khesari Lal Yadav contested from the Chapra constituency on an RJD ticket, while Ritesh Pandey contested from Karghar on a Jan Swaraj ticket.

The rallies of both actors were attended by a huge crowd and their fans used to come from far and wide to catch a glimpse of their favorite actor.

However, when the election results were announced, both these superstars lost the elections, while superstar Pawan Singh’s wife could not succeed despite the full support of her husband.

Bhojpuri industry is called a men’s industry where only the hero dominates the entire film and only the heroes are popular among the fans.

A few actresses also participated in the recent elections but none of them could achieve success.

On the contrary, newcomer and young singer Mithali Thakur won the BJP ticket from her constituency.

Mithali Thakur not only won the election but also became the youngest member of the state assembly so far.
