Investigation against Ranveer Allahbadia completed, passport return request set for hearing
The Indian Supreme Court has noted that the investigation against YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia is now complete. The court will hear his request for the return of his passport on April 28.
Ranveer Allahbadia, who is known online as BeerBiceps, faced several FIRs (police reports) for making inappropriate comments about parents and sexual topics during his YouTube show India’s Got LatenT.
Earlier, on February 18, the Supreme Court gave him temporary protection from arrest and ordered him to submit his passport to the Thane Cyber Police.
A bench including Justice Suryakant and Justice N Kotiswar Singh said they will consider the passport return request on April 28.
Earlier, on March 3, the Supreme Court allowed Ranveer to restart his podcast The Ranveer Show with a condition that he must maintain decency and ethics and make sure the content is suitable for all age groups.
Along with Ranveer, other names in the case include comedians Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija.
