Mumbai (December 30, 2025): Bollywood’s leading stars Aamir Khan and R Madhavan have broken their silence regarding the sequel to the comedy film ‘3 Idiots’.
3 Idiots is one of the most memorable films. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani in 2009, the film starred Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the lead roles, while other actors included Boman Irani, Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh.
The film has gained immense popularity over time.
Recently, there have been reports that a sequel to 3 Idiots is going to be made, but now Aamir Khan and R Madhavan have reacted to these speculations.
Both the actors revealed that they have not been approached for the sequel, which is completely contrary to the reports that the original lead pair will be seen on screen again.
R Madhavan said in an interview that a sequel to 3 Idiots sounds great to hear but it seems far from reality. Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and I are now quite old. Where will we take the story in the sequel? The actor added that it is an interesting idea but not conducive to a proper sequel. I would love to work with Raju Hirani again but I think it would be a stupid thing to do 3 Idiots again.
On the other hand, Aamir Khan said that we had a lot of fun making that film. My character ‘Rancho’ is the most popular character I have played so far.
Aamir Khan further said that people still talk about this character, so I would love to do a sequel, but no one has approached me about it.
