Blinded by opposition to Pakistan, Bollywood has lost the ability to create new content, and its own people have started criticizing it for being content with old films and songs.

Recently, famous Bollywood lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar has strongly criticized the makers of the anti-Pakistan film ‘Border 2’.

In an interview given to Indian media, Javed Akhtar said that when the original songs have achieved extraordinary success, there is no need to present them in a new way.

According to him, filmmakers should either create new and quality songs or admit that they cannot maintain the same quality as in the past.

He clarified that it was with this thinking that he refused to write for ‘Border 2’.

It should be remembered that Javed Akhtar himself wrote the songs for the film Border, released in 1997, for this reason he was also approached for the sequel, but he rejected the offer.

Javed Akhtar says that reusing old songs is tantamount to creative bankruptcy.

Javed Akhtar also questioned the growing trend of remaking songs in films and said that what has become a part of the past should be left there.

According to him, if new films are being made, then the music should also be new, and not rely on past successes.
