Famous Pakistani writer Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has responded after superstar Mahira Khan admitted her past mistake. Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is often in the news because of his controversial statements and drama stories. In the past, he has made both supportive and critical comments about women.
Last year, his name came up in a honey trap case, but even before that, he was known for making strong statements about fellow artists. His biggest controversy was with Mahira Khan. Now, both of them have spoken openly about it again.
Mahira Khan recently appeared on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast called Excuse Me. There, she explained her tweet against Khalil ur Rehman. She said, If you are asking whether I was wrong in that matter, then yes, I was wrong. I should have messaged him. He was right — I should have talked to him directly before tweeting. That was my mistake. I was shooting for Neelofar, and it was 4 AM when I saw a news story about someone misbehaving with a woman. It didn’t matter to me who the woman was. I got angry and tweeted without thinking. When we criticize powerful people, we fear losing our jobs.
Now, Khalil ur Rehman appeared in a podcast on the YouTube channel The Blue Truth Digital, where he gave his reaction to Mahira’s statement.
He said, Mahira admitted in Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast that she made a mistake and should have called me personally before tweeting. I really respect her and appreciate her way of admitting it.
He also said, We have a relationship of mutual respect. I was just upset because she could have called me. She could have said whatever she wanted in a private call. Her tweet was very hurtful to me.
Khalil ur Rehman added, Mahira Khan has always been one of my favorites, and she still is. Even when I criticized her in the past, it hurt me too.
He revealed that after watching her new interview, he sent her a message saying, Today, all my complaints with you are over.
