Famous drama writer and director Khalil ur Rehman Qamar received threats from an unknown person who demanded 15 million rupees in ransom and warned to leak an inappropriate video if the money was not paid. Lahore police have taken notice of the incident and started an investigation.
According to Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, he was at home when an unknown caller contacted him and threatened him for ransom. The caller sent several messages and made repeated calls, demanding 15 million rupees and threatening to leak a private video of Amna Urooj if the payment was not made.
The writer said he kept receiving calls and messages demanding extortion money and warning of serious consequences if he refused to pay.
Meanwhile, DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran has ordered an inquiry and formed a special investigation team. Police officials said the suspect would soon be arrested, and a full investigation is underway.
