Controversy has erupted against OTT platform Netflix’s show The Big Bang Theory in India, with an Indian political analyst sending a legal notice to the streaming platform.

Madhuri and Aishwarya an analyst named Mithan Vijay Kumar accused the OTT platform of promoting abuse and showing derogatory content. It should be noted that in an episode of Big Bang Theory, two characters talk about Indian actresses Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit, in which one calls Aishwarya the poor man’s Madhuri Dixit, while the other calls Madhuri a prostitute.

However, Mithun Vijay Kumar sent a legal notice to the OTT platform for using indecent words against the actresses and demanded action regarding the incident.

It also wrote that if Netflix does not take action as per the notice, further legal action will be taken against it.

The notice said that it is important for companies like Netflix to process such content carefully and ensure that the content they are providing is in line with the sentiments and values of local people.

It also said that we hope the streaming platform will hold those involved accountable.
