Actress Mahira Khan recently gave a podcast interview where she openly talked about her personal life, especially her first and second marriages.
While speaking with famous host Ahmed Ali Butt, Mahira shared that she still has a good and respectful relationship with her ex-husband Ali Askari and his wife Zara.
Mahira Khan married Ali Askari in 2007 and they have a son named Azlan. However, their marriage ended in 2015 after eight years.
She called her first marriage a valuable experience and said that if it had not happened, she would not have received the precious gift of Azlan.
Mahira also shared that she had thought about a second marriage many years ago, but her son was still young at that time, and his well-being was her top priority.
She wanted Azlan to be ready and happy with the idea of her remarrying. When Azlan became mature enough to understand his mother’s happiness, he himself advised Mahira to get married again.
Mahira said she never regretted the end of her first marriage. She believes every phase of life teaches us something.
For her, the first marriage is special because it gave her Azlan, who is the biggest joy in her life.
In October 2023, Mahira Khan married businessman Salim Karim. She said this was a well-thought-out and mature decision.
She admitted that before her second marriage, she did have some fears in her heart. But her son’s support and encouragement gave her the courage to take this step.
