Pakistani film industry’s leading actress Mahira Khan has said about her role in her upcoming film ‘Aag Lage Basti Mein’ that she had to work against her nature.

Mahira Khan said, ‘This role was different from my previous roles, and I had to play a more controversial character which was not easy for me naturally but the script was strong enough to help me prepare for the role.’

Fahad Mustafa said at the trailer launch that the film is a ‘money-making’ entertainment experience. He also said that there is an emotional scene in the film in which his father, actor Salahuddin, slaps him, which has a hint of love and prayers.

Social media star Samra Shahzadi will also be seen on the main screen for the first time in the film, while senior actor Javed Sheikh will be seen as a criminal boss and comedian Tabish Hashmi will be seen in a negative role.

Directed by Bilal Atif Khan, the film is a blend of comedy, action and romance. The story of the film revolves around the marital relationship of Barkat (Fahad Mustafa) and his wife Almas (Mahira Khan), who are caught between domestic strife on one hand and criminal adventures on the other.

In the trailer, Fahad Mustafa is shown in a character who is strictly committed to the principles of honesty and is seen saying that he can die but will not accept even a morsel of theft. On the contrary, Mahira Khan seems eager to acquire wealth quickly and tries to persuade Fahad Mustafa’s character to take the wrong path.

It should be noted that Salman Iqbal Films and Big Bang Films’ joint presentation ‘Aag Lage Basti Mein’ will be screened in cinemas across the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
