Nepali-origin Indian actress Manisha Koirala has reacted to the violent crackdown on protesters in Nepal. On social media, Manisha shared a message in Nepali language along with a picture of a blood-stained shoe.

She wrote that it is a dark day for Nepal when bullets were used to silence the voice of the people. She said the anger of the public against corruption and their demand for justice was answered with bullets.

Her message came after the violent crackdown on Generation Z protesters who had launched nationwide demonstrations against corruption and the government’s controversial ban on social media platforms.

Reports say that during these protests against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s decision to restrict social media, 21 people lost their lives and more than 250 others were injured.
