Mariyam Nafees was a guest on Ahmed Ali Butt’s show Mind Na Karna, where she was asked about her thoughts on polygamy, with Shoaib Malik’s marriages serving as an example. She stated that she appreciates the fact that Islam allows polygamy, but that males are unable to provide justice amongst spouses. She stated that in Shoaib’s instance, she does not pass judgment since it is preferable to terminate a toxic relationship and enter into a new equation rather than having two spouses at the same time.
