Pakistan’s well-known religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel has shared a clarification about a video of him that went viral on social media.
The video shows Maulana giving a speech at a mosque in Malaysia. In the clip, he is heard praising Imran Khan and saying pray to Allah for Imran Khan, he gave us a great leader, I am very close to him, I have not seen such a humble, honest, and religious leader before.
Even though the video and audio are real, there has been some editing done to them.
Maulana explained this in a post on the microblogging platform X. He said that his speech at the mosque in Malaysia is being shared on social media with an old audio. The added clapping sounds and political message have changed the original meaning of the video.

The post also said that this act is not right and does not meet the standards of honesty. The translator of Maulana’s speech in Malaysia has also shared a clarification.
On the other hand, a video of the translator is also going viral on TikTok. In the video, he supports Maulana Tariq Jameel’s statement.
The translator said that he was the one translating for Maulana during that gathering, and Maulana did not say even a single word about Imran Khan. Whoever edited and made this video has done something false and misleading. He requested people to share the clarification video as much as possible.
