Senior Pakistani actor Mehmood Akhtar has expressed concern over the changing trends and alleged Western influence in TV dramas
He said that during his career he witnessed many phases of drama production but now the quality and themes are changing in a worrying way and becoming more Western
He explained that in the past Pakistani dramas were known for realism and strong storytelling Later digest-based stories became popular and changed the content gradually but now the situation has gone even further
Mehmood Akhtar claimed that some Western organizations are funding dramas on specific topics which promote values and behaviors against Pakistani culture and traditions
He added that no one is seriously discussing this issue and it needs attention
