Famous Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has called the news about a ban on her in the UK false. She also urged media platforms to act responsibly and not spread fake news.
Mehwish Hayat started her career in the entertainment industry in 2009 with a short film called Insha Allah. Later, she made her television debut with the drama Masi Aur Malika.
She became popular in 2012 with the drama Mere Qatil Mere Dildar, which aired on Hum TV. For her performance, she received the Best Actress award at the Lux Style Awards.
After that, she acted in many successful dramas. In 2014, she entered the film world with an item song called Billi in the movie Na Maloom Afraad. However, her proper film debut as an actress came in 2015 with the movie Jawani Phir Nahi Ani.
Apart from working in Pakistani dramas and films, Mehwish Hayat has also played the role of Aisha in the Marvel Hollywood TV series Ms. Marvel. She has also received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award from the Government of Pakistan.
Mehwish Hayat is considered one of Pakistan’s superstars and is currently being appreciated by fans for her drama Dayan.
Recently, there were rumours on social media claiming that Mehwish Hayat had been banned in the UK. It was said that the reason for the ban was her appearance in Indian singer Yo Yo Honey Singh’s music video Jatt Mehkamme.
However, Mehwish did not stay silent about this false rumour. She spoke up and shared the truth through her response.
In her social media post, Mehwish called the claim completely baseless and false.
She also requested the media to act responsibly. She said that before sharing such statements, they should be verified—especially if they can harm someone or are based on made-up lies.
The actress also hinted that action may be taken against those spreading such false rumours.
She added that a record is being kept of these targeted false claims.
