Senior Pakistani actor Syed Muhammad Ahmed has revealed that actors often face delays in getting paid in the showbiz industry.
He shared a video message on social media where he exposed the behavior of production houses regarding payments. He said that production houses try to make actors beg for their money like beggars in every project.
He added that earlier, it was considered inappropriate to talk about payments, and even now, people think the same. But now, artists have started raising their voices against this issue.
Muhammad Ahmed said that production houses make actors work till 1 a.m. instead of ending the day at 9 p.m. Actors have no choice but to continue working. However, when it comes to payments, delays of 5 to 6 months have become very common.
He said that even after waiting for months, actors still have to explain their personal situations and ask for their payments like beggars. Only then do they receive a cheque, and even that is given as if they are doing a favor.
Syed Muhammad Ahmed said that payment issues in the industry have now become very serious. He added that money has become the biggest need of the time, and it is now necessary to speak up for it.
