NCCIA officer remanded in Ducky Bhai bribery case

A Lahore judicial magistrate approved a two-day physical remand of NCCIA Assistant Director Shoaib Riaz in the corruption case and sent the remaining accused to judicial custody

The officers involved in the NCCIA corruption case were presented in Lahore District Court after completing a three-day remand

During the hearing the FIA requested a five-day physical remand while lawyer Ali Ashfaq argued that the FIA declared the officers guilty without any solid evidence He questioned why Ducky Bhai and others accused of giving bribes were not arrested and said that only those accused of taking bribes were being punished

The lawyer added that the complainant never said Shoaib Riaz took money or explained how the meeting happened or how much money was given

The court accepted a two-day remand for Shoaib Riaz and sent the rest to jail under judicial custody

Magistrate Naeem Wattoo asked the investigation officer about evidence against Salman and was told there was none The magistrate said that at this investigation speed even 14 months would not be enough while the prosecution said the case was huge and needed time
