While Pakistan’s biggest music competition, Pakistan Idol Season 2, is receiving a lot of appreciation from the audience, the show is also facing various controversies. Initially, the judges’ panel faced criticism, and now the show is in the midst of a new controversy, the center of which is Top 16 contestant M Abrar Shahid.
M Abrar Shahid announced on social media that he has distanced himself from the show and was not evicted. He says that he was not given a fair chance in the show. According to him, his voice was being auto-tuned so much that it did not resemble his real voice, on which he expressed reservations.
According to Abrar Shahid, he received several calls and was told to delete the post and warned that legal action could be taken against him if he spoke about matters related to the show. However, he has decided to put his stand before the public and say, “I will tell the truth.” He further claims that “from the beginning, there was no intention to keep me on the show. The judges had thrown out many good contestants, and now they were trying to throw me out because I told the truth.” On the other hand, there is a mixed reaction from users on social media. One user said that if an agreement is signed, leaving the show in the middle will lead to legal action being taken against you. One user said that this proves how many recommended singers have appeared on the show, while many users advised him to upload his songs on YouTube.
